More and more men are opting for the non-traditional role of stay-at-home dad, a role that presents new challenges to pioneering men. Roy Marden made the decision to stay home when his daughter was born and describes being a full-time dad as the hardest, and most rewarding, job he’s ever had. Marden faced some challenges in getting a routine established and in coping with social stereotypes. He found himself being called “Mr. Mom” and often being the only man at child-centered activities. Despite the challenges, Marden is still happy with his choice, glad to be able to bond with his child and to spend these irreplaceable years with her.
