Working mothers often feel guilty: when at work, they feel guilty about not spending more time with their children; when at home, they feel guilty about not spending more time at work. Guilt is unproductive and saps energy. To deal with guilt, first try to determine if it’s based in truth. Look inward and compare your priorities and values to what is making you feel guilty. Change the things you have control over, but if your guilt is irrational, then work on letting it go. Your guilt may be based on unrealistic expectations you have of yourself. The perfect parent does not exist. Focus on your strengths and what you do well.
