China’s Glass Ceiling Has Been Broken

Today, women in China are enjoying workplace equality and more opportunities than women elsewhere. Jennifer Li, CFO of Baidu, a Chinese-language search engine, explains how the dynamic has changed in Chinese businesses. Many companies have leveled the playing field for women so that gender is not a factor in success. Instead, success is the reward for those who have determination and a passion for excellence and bringing value to the company. Li know this first-hand. Her company, nicknamed the “Chinese Google”, has secured 78% of the world’s largest internet market and is currently valued at nearly $32 billion dollars. Li has put in a tremendous amount of work to be successful, and Forbes Magazine lists her as a female power player to watch.
