Former deputy premier of Quebec, Monique Jérôme-Forget, is currently speaking to raise awareness that the battle for women’s equality in politics and business has not yet been won, as well as promoting her latest book which argues why companies should hire and promote women. Jérôme-Forget was known as Quebec’s Iron Lady while she served as the finance minister and treasury board president for the province. Rather than ask what feminism had done for her, Jérôme-Forget resolved the issue of pay inequality for women. She believes that Quebec cannot do without the intelligence of women in its business world, and the first step for women to meet that need is to, “Never, never say no.”
