Corporate Crossovers, a business specializing in advising women who leave the corporate world to run their own business, recently conducted a survey of female entrepreneurs. The survey was designed to show the main reason women leave the corporate world. The survey found that women left their positions not because they hit the glass ceiling, but because they were tired of the toxic culture surrounding them. Many of the women surveyed said they wouldn’t go back to the corporate world even if offered them more money. Women in corporate positions felt a disconnect between personal values and the values of the corporate world and are happier controlling their own future.
