While the job fairs organized by the California Job Journal are reputedly getting good feedback and attracting the participation of larger companies with more jobs to offer, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently revealed that unemployment in San Francisco rose 0.4 percent in June, to a total of 7.8 percent. That is 2000 more San Francisco citizens without jobs, for a total of 36,700. Unemployment in Marin and San Mateo counties also rose 0.3 percent. Although unemployment in the San Francisco area increased, California unemployment decreased on average from last year, down 1.3 percent from 11.9 percent last June.
