A survey conducted by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy reports that teens believe parents hold the most influence over their sexual decisions. 87% say it would be easier to postpone sex if they could have open conversations with their parents about intimacy. 86% of teens believe they have all the information they need to avoid teen pregnancy, but 66% stated they knew little about using condoms. 65% of adults polled believe teen pregnancy prevention programs should encourage abstinence while providing contraception information. Though teenage pregnancy is at an all time low, more still needs to be done to educate teens and encourage them to think carefully about their choices.
