As part of the Republic of South Africa’s goals to overcome gender divisions, one of South Africa’s most successful multinational corporations, MTN, recently organized a two-day conference to promote women’s leadership. Dr. Ancella Livers, a senior faculty member of the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) and co-author of a book on leadership across racial divides, was a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator in the event. Her keynote address was directed to 250 MTN South African executives of both genders and was titled, “The Gender Benefit: ICT Women in Leadership.” MTN’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Themba Nyathi, commented that the conference was a “decisive approach to ensure full participation of women in telecommunications and ICT.”
