Managing work, family biggest challenge for women striving for senior ranks: Survey

Randstad Canada recently performed a survey on 500 female manages and executives in Canada about the challenges they face in their careers. 60% of the survey participants found managing work and family to be one of the most challenging obstacles for women, although 91% felt that they had managed to find an effective balance between the two. 51% found outdated perceptions of women in managerial and executive roles to be an issue, 50% felt there were limited opportunities in the Canadian market for women, and 49% found the lack of female mentors and training to be an obstacle.
