Creating Purpose in Your Life

We have been advised for years to pursue our passion or “bliss” in order to be happy. However, many people find that the more self-focused we are, the more happiness eludes us. Instead of focusing on a passion in order to be happy, work instead to find a purpose. Discovering a way to use skills and passions to meet needs in the world shifts the focus from self to others. Pursuing a purpose is infinitely more satisfying than chasing a passion because we become less absorbed with our own problems and frustrations when we turn our attention away from ourselves and toward others.
