Companies with Female Leadership are Prospering

After a six month global study of more than two thousand companies, experts at Credit Suisse concluded that companies with women on their board of directors have stock prices that are twenty-six percent higher on average. Kimberly Gladman, who works for GMI Ratings, tracking thousands of companies, says the reason for this is that adding women to the board sparks more debate and prompts all members to work at a higher standard to avoid embarrassment in front of a “stranger.” This, in turn, leads to better decisions being made. According to the Credit Suisse study, the difference is especially evident when the economy is weak.
