Amtrak has shown support for the LGBT community for several years, and now they have moved their focus to LGBT families in two new ads. One ad features two African American moms and their daughter; the other shows two dads with their son. The ads have only been shown in an e-mail campaign for Amtrak’s LGBT niche site: “Ride with Pride.” Other organizations, like Children’s Tylenol and J.C. Penny, have included lesbian and gay families in marketing and advertising efforts. Though some people are cynical about being the target of advertisers, others are happy to have the visibility as long as the companies follow through with policies and philanthropy.
